Clap Talk- Travellers in Classrooms

MRIS Mohali organised a ‘Clap Talk – Travellers in Classrooms’ in the school campus. Heitor Teixeira Couto Campos from Sao Carlos, Brazil was the resource person who interacted with the students and familiarised them about his native country, its culture, music, architecture, education, etc.  Campos is pursuing engineering from the University of Sao Paulo. He apprised the school children with interesting facts about Brazil especially about the Amazon forests, Amazon river, the wind power/energy used in Brazil, the standard daily meal and the most popular dish called ‘feijoada’. The children also came to know about the most popular tourist destinations like Christ the Redeemer, which is one of the Seven Wonders of the World; Pelourinho; and Jericoacoara, one of the 10 most beautiful beaches of the world. The talk was followed by an interesting quiz about Brazil and question ball game. It concluded with personalised messages written by students on postcards to the traveller.
