Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana witnessed a win-win situation by winning whopping two awards in Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar 2017, a National Mission and an initiative by the Government of India through the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The awards have been bagged in two sub categories :(i)Water with a score of 95.45% with Green Rating and (ii) Hand washing with Soap with a score of 95% with Green Rating.
Dr. Rupali Saini, Principal received the prestigious award in the presence of eminent Educationists and District Education Officer (Secondary) Ms. Swaranjit Kaur. It was a moment of achievement for the entire school fraternity.
The National campaign Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan (SBA) ensures that every school in India has a set of functioning and well maintained water, sanitation and hygiene facilities. There has been emphasis on Clean Drinking Water, Promoting Hand washing as a Habit, Basic sanitation and Hygiene facilities: Separate Toilet for Boys and Girls and on the basis of such captivating categories the MHRD has joined hands with the schools of the country to promote “Clean India”. Hence, heralding a new era in the schools of the country. Embarked upon the same mission in communion with SBA, MRIS Ldh. boasts of a spick and span campus .It aims at ensuringproper sanitation, safe drinking water and hygiene facilities in the campus.
Eulogizing the initiative by the Government of India and reiterating the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in the school system, Principal Dr. Rupali Saini, articulated that school plays an exceptionally significant role in inculcating the values of hygiene and morals of keeping surroundings clean. If children are imparted such values at young age, it bears good results in the long run.
