“I believe in God, only I spell it Nature.”

Sitting back at home during this lockdown, we all must have had a glimpse of the bright sky, chirping birds and the serene and tranquil environment. This realisation of what our planet has given to us and what we have to offer it back is quite important. Keeping this sentiment in mind, ‘Earth Day’ was celebrated in the Virtual Classroom for Grade EY-XII. The celebration began with a ‘Gratitude pledge’ wherein the students vowed their allegiance to nature and its bounties, thanking Mother Earth for everything it has given to human beings. While the tiny tots mesmerised their parents with pleasant rhymes on ‘Earth Day’, the pre-primary children designed a poster on the theme: Positive side of Corona- a blessing in disguise.

MRIS, Ludhiana students of Grade VI-VIII designed slogans on the same theme and impressed their fellow mates with innovative and original ideas. The students of Grade IX-XII presented their thought-provoking ideas through a ‘Power Point Presentation’ and spoke about various measures to protect the Ozone layer, reduce the usage of plastic bags and keeping the planet clean the way they keep their homes clean.

The Virtual window of each grade reverberated with excitement and enthusiasm of the students who were all geared up to create awareness on environment thus, celebrating the occasion of EARTH DAY. The students were sensitized about the importance of saving environment through all these activities.
