The 12th Manav Rachna Under 14 Cricket Challenge Cup 2019 kick started at MRIS 46 Gurugram on 9th December. The event has always received an overwhelming response from the schools in Delhi-NCR and has become an annual feature of the school activity calendar. This year as many as 24 teams from Delhi-NCR competed against each other for the coveted championship title and trophy.
The championship was declared open by Mr. Sarkar Talwar, Director Sports MREI in the presence of Executive Director of the school Mr. Sunny Bansal and Director Principal Ms. Dhriti Malhotra. Mr. Sarkar Talwar in his address to the aspiring young talent stressed on maintaining the spirit and dignity of the game.
The four teams that made it to the semi- final were Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram; G D Goenka School Vasant Kunj; Presidium School Sec 57, Gurugram and MRIS -46.
The final Championship was held at Tau Devi Lal Stadium between Shiv Nadar School and Presidium School. Shiv Nadar School bagged the 12th Under- 14 Cricket Challenge Cup and won the tournament by 20 runs.
Vibhor Gaur of Shiv Nadar school was declared the Man of the Match as well as the Man of the Tournament while Rian Kapur also of Shiv Nadar School was adjudged as the Best Bowler. Saransh Kapur from Presidium was the Best Batsman of the Championship.
The power- packed event concluded with giving away the trophies and certificates to the winners.
