Earth Day Special Assembly

The Sustainable Development Goals are a call for action by all countries to promote prosperity while protecting the planet.  Keeping the above thought in mind, the students of Grade- 4 A and B of MRIS-14, Faridabad conducted a special assembly on Earth Day.

To dedicate this day to Mother Earth, the students performed on the theme “Return to Nature” which was well choreographed. The dance sequence exhibited the damage caused to the environment by mankind for their personal benefit, the ill effects of environmental pollution on living beings and showcased the solutions to protect and preserve the green planet. Children also presented a soulful song on undertaking our duties towards Mother Earth as responsible citizens. Gunmay Marwah of Grade V C, the youngest gardener, addressed the peers on the types of the plants to be planted and how to take care of the plants. His words were very inspiring and he motivated everyone to plant more trees.

The Vice Principal, Ms. Monika Kathuria, felicitated the Olympiad medalists and emphasized on making small efforts to save environment.

To mark the Earth Day and emphasize upon the need to save trees, the students were involved in creative activities like slogan writing, poster making, Kabaad Se Jugaad, Best Out of Waste, etc displaying their artistic and linguistic skills while showcasing their awareness about conserving natural resources throughout the week.

This array of activities further reinforced the message to value the generosity of Mother Earth and nurture it with warmth and care.
