Nelson Mandela, the inspirational Nobel Peace Prize Laureate personifies the way in which the human spirit can triumph over hate and evil by embracing peace and reconciliation, in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. Students of Grade IV-D at Manav Rachna International School, Sector-14, Faridabad, paid homage to the great leader by celebrating ‘International Nelson Mandela Day’.

The participants put up an exuberant show and accentuated that individuals can challenge unjust systems and create fairer societies by exploring Nelson Mandela’s struggle against apartheid. The audiences were enthralled with the captivating performance. They were filled with awe and realized that he was an incredibly selfless man who played a major role in rewriting the history of South Africa.

The event ended with the thoughtful words of Vice Principal, Ms. Monika Kathuria. She emphasized and motivated the students to become more responsible. She further added that the world needs more leaders like Nelson Mandela- sacrificing, dedicated and focused. We should consider ourselves lucky to have been born in an era, in which Mandela existed. He will forever be one of the greatest men to have walked on earth. The winners of various competitions were also felicitated at the end, further adding to the jubilant ambience.
