The World belongs to those who read. Manav Rachna International School, Sec-14, Faridabad will be observing ‘Book Week’ from 23rd April to 27th April 2018 to celebrate the World Book Day. World Book Day is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.The main aim of World Book Day is to encourage children to explore the pleasures of books and reading by providing them an opportunity to have a book of their own.
Students of Grade VI-VIII will participate in various activities. Grade VI watched the very first series, ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’, of renowned author J.K Rowling. Grade VII watched the movie ‘Wonder’ by R.J. Palacio. Students will also be making beautiful posters in which they will note down the information about J.K Rowling and R.J. Palacio and present them in their classes. Grade VIII watched an informative ppt. on handling of books and also present information on novelist John Boyne writer of ‘The boy in striped payjama’. They were explained how to handle books in most effective ways and steps to preserve books.
