On the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, MRIS -Charmwood conducted an activity to sensitize everyone about the consequences of using plastic. A big step towards this is saying ‘NO’ to Single Use plastic.

The center of attraction was the display of paper or jute bags all over the school campus, with quotes on ‘Say No to Single Use Plastic’. Students will great zeal participated in writing slogan or quotes.

The students carried 1371 eco-friendly bags with them. These bags were distributed to the general public at various locations and each child further took a pledge from the beneficiary of the bag to ensure that they will minimize resources and avoid usage of plastics.

The students made people aware of the “BYOG” which stands for bring your own bag. The students covered the market areas and fruits and vegetable vendors. They also took the plastic bag from those who were carrying and distributed cloth bags to them.
