Here are few tips for Chemistry Board Exam Preparation:
- The topics should be filtered so that it is convenient for the student to study. These topics should be marked with specific timings that the student requires to complete based on his learning capacity.
- While solving numerical from Physical Chemistry, students must follow certain basic steps i.e. write down formulae, substitute values and follow basic rules of BODMAS (÷, X, +, -) to see the smile on your face for getting correct answers.
- Prepare for the conceptual questions on Numericals as that gives you a better understanding of the concepts and can strengthen your knowledge and give you a better grip on the subject.
- From electrochemistry, it is important to practice numerical based on Nernst Equation, reactions of fuel cell, lead storage cell and rusting as questions from these topics are straight forward and easy to score.
- Chemical kinetics, numerical from Arrhenius equation and integrated rate laws for zero and first order reaction along with their graphical interpretation.
- Ensure to study coordination compounds; VBT and CFT from inorganic chemistry thoroughly.
- ORGANIC is easy but at same time is volatile so we need lot of written practice of name reactions. Keep in mind the oxidation and reduction series (eg hydrocarbons alcohols…..carbonyl compounds… carboxylic acid on oxidation). Prepare distinguishing test. Make roadmaps and learn to apply in question paper.
- Adhere to the work limit and write the coherent details while answering questions for ‘d block elements’
- Solve previous years’ sample papers. Regular mock tests will enable you to acclimatize with the actual test environment, improve your speed and level of performance.
- After you’ve finished the Chemistry curriculum, pay special attention to revision and make use of the brief notes with bullet points.
- Make it a point to attempt all Questions as there is no penalization for incorrect answers
- While boards and competitive exam demands rigorous revision and studies, it is important to take a break in between few hours to relax your mind and body.
Last but not the least, Students need not strain themselves to study hard for scoring good marks in exams but adding a few good habits and adjustments can help in studying better.
With these tips in mind, I would like to wish all my students All the Best for their upcoming Board Exams.
