Manav Rachna was privileged to have the presence of the reputed and renowned Shri G.K.Singh Dhaliwal, an IAS officer, who currently serves as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation for the city of Ludhiana in the state of Punjab on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. He was welcomed by the Chairman Mr Rajesh Kalra and Executive Director Mr Gaurav Rai of MRIS-51, Gurgaon & Ludhiana and Vice Principal, MRIS 51, Gurgaon Ms Pooja Puri . He has served as the Director General School Education, Punjab in the year 2014 and as Deputy Commissioner of Patiala and Ropar, Punjab.
He is the founder of NGOs Village Development Council, Jalwana involved in the integrated development of backward areas of Punjab and is also the founder member of Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust, instrumental in rehabilitation of disabled.
He was very impressed with the curriculum, infrastructure and sports facilities provided to the students. He asserted that schools have a responsibility of creating complete citizens rather than just economic citizens. He echoed with the Manav Rachna’s philosophy of bringing about holistic development in their students. He visited school’s i- Carnegie lab and was overwhelmed to hear the explanation of the robots and their programming by the students and wished them luck for their future endeavors.
He also shared that he firmly believed that participation in games form an important component of this development process. He appreciated the shooting range and its state of art infrastructure. He tried his hands on the Air Rifle. Like his wisdom his aim was also the best. He expressed his delight and wished the entire team success and a bright future.
