Good teachers become great teachers by going beyond the call of duty and beyond the textbooks. To do this, a teacher must continue learning all her life. A well informed and inspired teacher is sure to influence a student’s achievement. MRIS-Ludhiana, truly believes in providing such platform to the teachers in order to help them grow and become perfect individual both personally and professionally.
Envisaging this philosophy, a workshop: ‘It’s Time to Manage Lifestyle’ was conducted by Ms. Avneet Kaur, a renowned psychologist from BLISS, Delhi. Ms. Kaur is a consultant psychologist and behaviour skills trainer. She believes in ‘Discovering within the ultimate drive to actualization.’ She started the workshop by initiating an activity, through which the teachers learnt a lot about their colleagues. She believes that ‘Life is not a compromise; Life is all about change.’She shared her life’s experiences and also inculcated a beautiful theory of ‘Mud and Sculptor’. She helped the teachers visualise the power of a sculptor to transform the mud into a certain shape or size.
Mind is the master power that moulds and makes, so we should be that mind. She explained everyone that people go through various experiences in their lives. Every experience affects a person in some way and only a strong person would learn something valuable. She also added that: Life is a journey, not a destination. This journey may take you down by storms and bumpy roads, but that really doesn’t matter, what matters the most is how many times you stand up and continue. Each moment in the journey of life, we are presented with an opportunity to react differently. We have the power to choose things and not walk around in a constant circle. Ms. Avneet empowered the teachers to make right choices to lead a successful life. The teachers realised how a shift of perspective can help them become successful humans and in turn successful teachers. She ended the workshop by taking everyone on a peaceful journey about self-realisation to enable the mind to embark investigation into truth through meditation, which was praised a lot by everyone.
