Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana has collaborated with Mosaica Education, USA which follows the Paragon Curriculum from Grades KG to V which combines the rigour of classical education with the relevance required by the contemporary society. Students learn about character, ethics, empathy and self-esteem implicitly by studying the world’s great heroes, both canonical and unsung, and by stepping into the shoes of great historical figures, both real and imaginary. Paragon looks at learning from the past to prepare students to become the architects of tomorrow. The content-rich Paragon Curriculum is interdisciplinary, engaging, discovery-based, student centred and multi-cultural. The students of Grades I-V showcased their learning in front of their parents through the Paragon Assemblies.
The parents were amazed to see the learning through the unit. The students shared their learning about Native America, Japan, Early European colonisation in North America and the challenges faced by the Europeans in finding a sea route to North America. The students of Grade V also presented their in-depth explorations of the events and art in Europe that led to and became the Enlightenment through a role play called Commedia dell’ Arte “Isabella”. They compared and contrasted history with present time. The parents felt happy to witness the art work and models created by the students in school hours with the help of teachers. The music and dance associated with the theme was also presented by the students. All the students were given a fair chance to perform. The parents were amazed to watch their wards performing with confidence. They appreciated the efforts done by the teachers and the school. Mrs. Shilpi Gill, Principal, Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana congratulated the students and staff for the grand success of the Paragon Assemblies. She also thanked the parents for their co-operation and support. She remarked that it’s almost been a year since the students have been experiencing Paragon Curriculum. The progress reflected by the students is surely remarkable. She also congratulated the teachers for their wonderful work with children and making Paragon sessions interesting for them.
