“Dance is the hidden language of the soul of the body and when it’s combines with Drama it creates magic.”
To develop dramatic skills and promote acting ability among the students, an Inter house One-Act Play Competition was held at Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana recently. It is rightly said that “Modern educational theatre is a creative, practical, culturally enlightening activity.” Through such plays, students learn to appreciate the great literary masterpieces of Shakespeare.
The quality of plays selected and the perfect execution of these by students of the four clans were appreciative. The students were exceptionally committed and put in many hours of rehearsal time. We are immensely proud of our students, their characterization and performance was charismatic. The bright and vibrant costumes and sensational use of audio and stage presence is worth appreciating. The round of applause they received from the audience spoke volumes. Students of Forest Rhinos (Green House) stole show and bagged the first position.
The school Principal Dr. Rupali Saini appreciated the students for their stellar performance and said that in a well-planned One-Act Play Contest, there are no losers. She also congratulated the In- charge teachers for their efforts in training the students and also gave valuable tips on the use of stage, props and movements of cast on stage to generate a greater impact.
Dr. Rupali Saini said that these activities help students develop qualities such as self-confidence, poise, cooperativeness, initiative, resourcefulness, self-control, self-discipline, and a sense of understanding. They learn the importance of systematic organization, orderly procedure, and detailed planning.
