Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana celebrated Hindi Divas on 14th September, 2015. The day started with a morning assembly in which the students were enlightened with the significance of the day. The students delivered speeches and portrayed the famous five writers all in Hindi- Rabindra Nath Tagore, Subhradra Kumari Chauhan, Kabir, Mahadevi Verma, Harivansh Rai Bachchan. Through the enactment, the students shared information about the life and works of these great writers. A student recited humorous poetry in the assembly, which described how words from other languages have been incorporated into the Hindi language over a period of time. Campus language for the day was Hindi.
To mark Hindi Diwas celebrations, a series of competitions were organised throughout the day. The students from Grades I-V competed with each other by displaying their creativity and command over Hindi in the Creative Writing Competition. A Hindi Poetry Recitation Competition was also conducted. Top two scorers were awarded on the basis of expressions, pronunciation and intonation. Besides this, Hindi Spell genie was being conducted to ensure students become good spellers and develop a strong command on the national language. The early years classrooms were abuzz with activities for the day. The teachers briefed the students about the importance of Hindi Diwas through PPTs and a series of activities.
In her address to the students, Ms Shilpi Gill, Vice-Principal, Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana said that the students should respect the national language. They should labour hard to improve their linguistic ability and in turn develop a sound hold over it. Their comfort level with the language should be exemplary. She congratulated the Hindi department for organising Hindi Diwas celebrations.
