We, at Manav Rachna International School keep organising opportunities for experiential learning for the students. These activities are designed keeping in mind the present milieu and the grade level. An Edutrip was organised for the students of Grade VI and VII to Oriental Bank of Commerce at Feroze Gandhi Market, Ludhiana to empower students to undertake money transactions independently and understand how a bank functions. The trip was also aimed at exposing them to a career in banking. This Edutrip to Oriental Bank of Commerce was also an attempt to teach kids how mathematical skills and the logical ability are applied to our everyday life. In the bank, the students learnt how to open their own bank accounts. They attempted withdrawal of cash independently. The visit helped them become aware of different departments in the bank and roles performed by different employees.  The students learnt what a debit or ATM card looks like, and how it is used. The staff showed them how an ATM works. The students came back feeling confident of handling bank transactions on their own. They penned down their reflections and shared their learning with each other. The School bus buzzed with activity as the students shared their experience enthusiastically. The students looked forward to sharing their experience with their family. The Edutrip was certainly another reflection of School’s effort of ensuring holistic development of all the students and preparing them for life.
