“Today a reader, tomorrow a leader” – Margaret Fuller
Reading for pleasure can turn into a lifelong habit that builds vocabulary and critical thinking skills. In continuation with our ‘LOVE FOR READING’ program and to keep the enthusiasm alive, we at MRIS-51, Gurugram conducted a READING CARNIVAL for the students of Nursery and KG from Monday, February 26 to Thursday, March 1, 2018.
The Carnival gave a whole new dimension to inculcate the habit of reading among kids. It included various activities like Story Berries, Hit the Pyramid, Musical Word Chair, Crossword Puzzle, Sentence Maker and Word Wall for KGs and Hopscotch, Bouncy Blend, Parking Lot, Finding Dory and Word Wall for Nursery. These activities not only engaged children in reading books, but also encouraged parents to spend some time with their kids at home to support our reading program. Many parental involvement activities (like– story reading, sight words ornaments, building sentence puzzles, roll it read it, my reading cups, read and feed the hungry monster) were also shared.
The Reading Carnival concluded with tremendous success, good participation of kids, unending support from the parents and above all fulfilling our motive of “Love for Reading”.
