Students of Manav Rachna International School, Sec-46, Gurugram got the wonderful opportunity to attend the United Nations Young Change Makers Conclave (UNYCC) held recently at the Indira Gandhi Stadium, New Delhi.
UNYCC provided a platform to students – our change makers, to meaningfully engage with the leaders in spheres of business, politics, media, arts, international affairs and social impact. The Conclave focused on the means of achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through the theme ‘Social Impact and Innovation- Agenda 2030.
Honorable PM of Canada: Mr. Justin Trudeau was the keynote speaker of the conclave. Mr. Trudeau impressed the young changemakers with his address. In his address, he emphasized on the need of a world that is fair in its dealings and is not just tolerant but loving, caring and empathizing to fellow beings. He reinstated his belief in young people who have plenty to offer and will make a difference by helping, contributing and shaping the world.
Other prominent speakers included Mr. Amitabh Kant (CEO-Niti Ayog), Ms. Dia Mirza (Actress), Hayley Wickenheiser (Ice Hockey Player) and many more leaders from different sectors.
The programme concluded with an enigmatic performance by Ms. Rupi Kaur, a poetess who believes that truth lies within ourselves.
