Grandparents play an important role in every family. They are the guiding stars not only for their children but also for their grandchildren. Hence, as a mark of respect and gratitude, MRIS-51, Gurgaon organized a program in the school premises for the grandparents. Special ‘SAMBANDH’ between grandparents and grandchildren was celebrated in a different style. The celebrations continued for two days i.e. from October 14th to October 15th, 2016.

Day 1 was dedicated completely to the grandparents. A special meditation session was organized for the elderly. Mr. Ajay, a renowned speaker from the Art of Living graced the occasion and made a big difference to lives of everyone present on the session. It was followed by singing and poem recitation by the grandparents. It was truly amazing to see such a vast resource of love and talent. Grandparents also tried their hands on making Bandhanwars and some pottery items in the art room. The final products were magnificent.

Day 2 witnessed heart touching performances by little ones especially for their dadu-dadis and nanu-nanis. Little bloomzies and toddlers performed on various songs and expressed their love for them. Nursery students represented Baal Ramayana. It was truly a heart rendering performance as was evident in the wet eyes of the audience. Kindergarteners presented beauty of this relationship through a drama presentation called ‘Nimai’. It signified the eternal love of grandparents and grandchildren which transcends generations.

Overall, as always it was a memorable event. Time seemed inadequate to benefit from this huge treasure of love, knowledge and talent. Team MRIS-51 salutes the grand pillars of the society- the Grandparents!
