All people everywhere love a celebration. They may celebrate on different days and in different ways, but usually a celebration means joy and happiness. India is a secular country and we respect and celebrate all festivals with same fervour and enthusiasm. Keeping the spirit of the same in mind and to sensitize the students we, at MRIS 51 Gurgaon, celebrated the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr. The aim was to share information of how festival is celebrated and to educate students about the relevance of Eid.

The students were explained about Eid-ul-Fitr which is a festival of love and goodwill. It gives us a message to love all and hate none. It exhorts us to bid goodbye to hatred, jealousy and enmity and bring in an era of love, sympathy and brotherhood.

Various fun filled activities of the same were conducted at MRIS 51 ranging from colouring sheets for grades 1 – 3 to word puzzle related to the festival for grade 4 and writing a paragraph on the same for grades 5&6. The students were also told about some of the great Muslim personalities and their contribution to the nation. Visionaries like Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam; Ashfaq Ullah Khan; Mohd. Hamid Ansari; Zakir Hussian and A R Rahman were discussed briefly.

The theme for the day can at best be summarized as: “Deliver love to all and get love from all”

Eid Mubarak !!!
