“Basant Panchmi” is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and is also celebrated to worship Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge and wisdom. To mark this day, the MRIS-51, Gurgaon celebrated Basant Panchmi today in the school campus by doing Saraswati Pooja. This day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm. The “pooja” started with a beautiful Saraswati vandana and after that Prasad was distributed among the children. The students of Primary wing offered yellow coloured flowers to the Goddess and also brought yellow coloured food in their lunch boxes. The dress code of the teachers was also yellow. The whole school assembled together to pray and attain blessings from Goddess Saraswati to reach the epitome of knowledge. Teachers explained the value of this day and importance of yellow colour with scientific theory and colour therapy. The children enjoyed the day enlightened by the blessings of Maa Saraswati.

Hawan is one thing which purifies not only surroundings but also minds. To celebrate the occasion, Hawan was organised at the campus. Chairman of the school Mr. Rajesh Kalra with his wife, Executive Director Mr Gaurav Rai with his mother Mrs Asha Rani, Vice Principal Ms Pooja Puri and all the staff members were assembled to take part in the Hawan.
