In keeping with the Vision and Mission of Manav Rachna International School, Sector 46, Gurugram ‘To generate integrated focus on academic, services, support and opportunities that will lead to improved student’s learning’, the Students of Grade VI were taken to the Panchayat House, Damdama Village on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Diwas across India. There couldn’t have been a better opportunity for the Students to observe and learn through first hand information. They understood the meaning of decentralisation of political powers to the grass root level.

Students were seated in the Gram Panchayat Bhawan and were addressed by the Sarpanch. He briefed them about the elections, duties, responsibilities, rights and grants of a Sarpanch. The children enjoyed the whole session along with the rustic aura. They were in full frame of learning and understanding all about the smallest unit of democracy.
