30TH January 2015, Faridabad: Manav Rachna International School , Sector 14, celebrated a perfect blend of science and history through  their annual event “PotPourri”.Mamta Wadhwa, Principal , MRIS, sec 14, welcomed the guests for the occasion – Dr Amit Bhalla(Vice – President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions),Mrs Deepika Bhalla (Executive Director, MRIS 14), Mr. Sunny Bansal (Executive Director, MRIS 46, Gurgaon),Mr Edward Carter(Paragon Specialists), Sarkar Talwar (Director , Sports- MREI) along with the principals of other MRIS schools.

The students represented the functioning of Model United Nations, Indian Parliament and Grampanchanayats, Make in India – The best out of waste, Spectators got a glimpse of “La Culture Française’’– The French Culture. Life skill activities such as Rock Climbing, Net Climbing, Rappelling and Flying Fox were demonstrated by the brave hearts. Students were also sensitized the parents about various issues such as Women Empowerment and awareness of traffic rules by events like Road Show. The work of the Astronomy Club was another visual delight of the day. “The Awakening- A nation’s journey towards Glory”- A musical showcase of India’s history would was staged by the  primary classes.Students performed on patriotic songs like “Mangal , Mangal”, Sarforashi ki tamana, Mera rang de basanti chola, Vande Matram.Forgotten heroes like Mangal Pandey, Rani Jhansi, Chandreshekhar Azad were remembered.

Addressing the august audience and the parents, Mamta Wadhwa, Principal (MRIS 14) said Potpourri is a tribute to our Founding Father Dr OP Bhalla who believed in experiential learning .
