MRIS-14 Students Participated in the Times Newsmakers’ Meet 2018

Inspiring young minds to venture beyond theoretical knowledge and explore varied platforms of creative expression is the forte of Manav Rachna International School, Sec-14, Faridabad. Unfurling their innovative spirit, two students from Grade XI of MRIS-14 participated in the Times Newsmakers’ Meet 2018– a platform uniting the budding journalists from over 50 schools across Delhi-NCR to put their imagination and creative writing abilities to test at Amity University, Noida.

Braving the crisp winter morning, the student-reporters displayed unparalleled enthusiasm as they prepared themselves for the preliminary written evaluation. Probing into their journalistic adeptness and general awareness, the test comprised questions on current affairs along with a pictorial composition assessing their accuracy and fluency in writing. Keeping their tryst with the inquisitive, bold and assertive minds, eminent senior editors of TOI and Mr. Nikhil Chopra, former Indian cricketer and cricket analyst interacted with children in an enlivening session. Proffering views on varied aspects of media, the students were encouraged to pursue their dreams fearlessly and embrace the necessity to voice their opinions to invoke the true spirit of democracy. The success of the event was a blazing testimony of the grit and determination exuded by the students to be the instruments of change and contribute to the well-being of the society.
