The ingenuity of the young innovators reached its crescendo as the two-day Delhi-NCR Regional WRO Championship drew to a close amidst excitement and fanfare. Infusing vivacity and fresh perspective to science, technology and innovation; the sports arena of MRIS-14, Faridabad was palpable with the unbridled enthusiasm of the dynamic 60 participating teams who delved into the theme of ‘Food Matters’ with gusto.
Gracing the closing ceremony, Mr. Sudhanshu Sharma, Founder-Director ISF lauded the young independent thinkers for putting their grey cells to test and emerging with creative measures to tackle food wastage at a global scale. Nine teams qualified for the Nationals from the Elementary level whereas seven teams clinched the top spots from Junior High, marking the culmination of the mega event. A blazing testimony of their unflinching grit and determination, Team MRIS-14 secured fifth position in both Elementary and Junior High categories. While Teams Robo Extreme, Robo Nites and VRS bettered the best in the Elementary stage, Teams System Overload, Shadow Bots and KAA bagged the top hours in the Junior High category.
Felicitated with medals and mementos, the winning teams and their proud mentors took to stage as the arena resonated with a thunderous applause. A celebration of the passion and novelty of young minds to throw off the trammels of theoretical discourse, this unique experiential learning experience not only provided a better insight into the multifarious skill-sets of the generation-next but also kindled the inquisitive spirit among all and sundry.
