A session on ‘Coping with Peer Pressure’ was conducted by Fortis healthcare team for the Students of Grades VIII and IX. It was an interactive session where students were given a lot of situations and questions where they face peer pressure. Peer Pressure is in a way the fear to answer a question in public as we think people will laugh at us. Through role plays and presentation the team discussed the advantages and disadvantages of Peer Pressure.
They informed the students that Peer Pressure not only has a positive impact, it can have negative impacts also.
While Positive impact is the opportunities to develop new hobbies and pushing us beyond our comfort zone, Negative Peer Pressure is bullying others or putting us in wrong habits or practices. During the session, children were asked to be assertive in saying no when taken in the wrong direction by the friends.It was an interactive and informative session for the Students.
