It was a proud moment for MRIS- Charmwood as the school hosted Ullas – an inter-school folk dance competition on 16th November, 2016. Illustrious Kathak exponent Ms. Shovana Narayan and Executive Director MRIS-Charmwood and 21C Ms Nisha Bhalla were the Chief Guests for the occasion. Other dignitaries included Director, Academic Staff College and Administration, MRIS, Ms Goldy Malhotra; Executive Director MRIS-46 Mr. Sunny Bansal and principals from various MRIS branches.

Judges for the occasion were renowned dancers Ms Elisha Deep, Ms M. Indira, Mr Daniel Freddy and Mr Praveen Parihar. The budding dancers from over 20 schools from Delhi and NCR enthralled the audience with their tremendous performances.

The winners under the four categories were as follows:

  • Category Grades KG-I: DPS Faridabad (Ist), MRIS 14 (2ND) and Paul
  • George Global School (3rd); Category Grades II-III: DPS Faridabad (Ist), MRIS 21C (2nd) and MVN Sec 17 (3rd);
  • Category Grades IV-V: DAV Sec 37 (1st), Surajkund International (2nd) and MRIS 21C (3rd); Category Grades VI-VIII: Ashok Memorial (1st), Tagore International (2nd) and Surajkund International (3rd).

Executive Director Ms Nisha Bhalla, Director Principal Ms Sanyogita Sharma, Headmistress Early Years and Primary wings Ms Jyoti Bhalla and all the judges gave away the trophies to the winners. Ms Sanyogita Sharma congratulated all the schools, students and teachers for putting up an incredible show.

Ms Shovana Narayan and other guests also felicitated those students who had brought laurels to MRIS Charmwood at a recent inter-school cultural fest wherein MRIS-CW secured positions in the one act play and shloka recitation.
